In the meantime, Marilee was in good spirits - she was in some pain and nauseated, but was able to keep down medication which was a blessing.
The Doctor came in about 2 o'clock. She was awesome. We left with a lot of hope.
Still no prognosis, today she will be meeting with the Lead Oncologist and the day will be filled with a biopsy, lab work, and more tests. We feel so blessed to have her there and are gearing up to fight this fight.
We are also again reminded how blessed we are to be from such a wonderful community. Thanks can never be enough to say how we feel towards all the loving, wonderful people that have been supporting my mom and dad. The love that she feels gives her the strength she needs. Also a shout out to Cindy Christensen who came up to do an emergency hair-cut. It looks great.
Thanks so much to Dr. Fisher, Laurie Schafer, Kamry Arthur, and all the nurses at San Juan Hospital. Thanks to Willie and Scott that transfered her up here safe and sound despite the late night and the crummy weather. And all the other wonderful people that had my mom's back and got her up here. Our hearts are full of gratitude for the love they showed to her.
We are going to fast together as a family this Sunday. We ask you include her in your fast that Sunday as well.
We will keep this update as much as possible and will pass well-wishes left here to Marilee.
Thanks again
This is from Rick and Ryan from the center of the universe at the Huntsman Center, Today and tomorrow will be big and long and hard as they do the testing and planning and prodding and everything else. The "team" was just in about fifteen people that came in this morning with the initial review. There are a lot more on the team that didn't come in that will be involved in the treatment plan. Very nice facility and nice people. We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers that have been offered in our behalf. We were surprised to even to receive a second hand email from Dr. Goon who is 90 year old and living in Boston. Words cannot express our treatment that we received at the San Juan Hospital. Dr. Fisher, lab people, nurses, other staff, housekeeping, dietary, Dr. Hayes, the lists goes on. We are going to try to update this blog a few time each day and this may be the best way to communicate the news. We have all the kids here, Ryan got back from Texas from a fire to be here, Alisa is in SLC, Heidi and Josh from St, George and Kelli, Pete and the best grandkids are all here taking turns, sharing stories, some tears and emotions.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you Marilee!!!! I'm cheering for you! Love you!
ReplyDeleteA quick update. Dr, Ward is Marilee's primary doctor and knew and worked with Dr. Jim Redd were closely for many years so we have some thinks in common. Ryan and I were at lunch and he saw us there and came over and told us that he was working vert hard to get the biopsy done today so that they can have a a preliminary report by tomorrow. The pathology department does not work fully staffed over the weekends so they would like to get started today, There were two doctors in a few minutes ago and the tests schedule for about two today at the U of U We will be waiting I an sure
ReplyDeletePlease know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Marilee is a very special person and I have deep feelings for the amazing leader she was to me. When I was first put in the Young Women's presidency a few years ago, I just kept thinking, "please let me be the kind of leader to these girls that Sister Bailey was to me. " Send her my love and know you are ALL in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteHi Marilee. Just heard you are in Salt Lake in good hands. I will be praying hard for you and will put your name in the temple. I am so glad that Maren and Kelli are such good friends. She loves her so much . She would be happy to watch Kelli's kids if she needs to be with you. My mom posted a note to you but she signed it MiMi so you probably didn't know it was
ReplyDeleteShauna. She is praying for you too and she gets her prayers answered! We love you. xoxox Justine
